
There
are two ways to enter Nepal, by air and by road. The air journey is easier
and more comfortable than road journey. Almost 90 percent of the tourists
enter through the Tribhuvan International Airport which is 5 miles or 8
kilometers from the heart of Kathmandu.

Departure and Airport TaxTax
Passengers departing from the Tribhuvan International Airport are required
to pay an airport tax of Rs. 900 if going to SAARC countries (Bangladesh,
Bhutan, India, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka) and Rs. 1100.00 to all
other international destinations. Domestic airport tax is Rs. 165.
By Road
There are several entry points by land route. Among many entry points,
Birganj, Belahia and Kakarvita are popular entry points at India-Nepal
border, while Kodari entry point is at Tibet (China)-Nepal border.
